DM, EKM electro contact manometers

The unit has an increased loading capacity and protection from vibration-caused false activation.

Purpose, application

Electrocontact manometers (DM, EKM), manovacuum meters(DA), vacuum meters(DV) hereiafter “manometers” (pic. 1, 2. ) in a set with MS-3-... signal device are designed for excessive and vacuum pressure of non-crystallized liquids, vapour and gases, not aggressive to parts(being in contact with monitored media) material, as well as for discrete control of auxiliary and regulating devices.
Manometer in a set with MS-3...signal device might be used for pressure control in technological systems in oil and gas, chemical, food, pharmaceutical and municipal industries.
Manometer in a set with signal device might be used for double wall tanks interstitial tightness monituring as well as for flange sealing ring tightness control.

Design, operation principle

Manometer design: Manometers are manufactured on the base of non explosion-proof devices:
- DM (DA, DV)... - manometers with sliding contacts -see pic. 1;
- EKM ... - manometers on micro switches - see on pic. 2.
Explosion-proof feature of manometers is achieved by their enhancement and combination with MS-3...signal device that plays a role of IS barier. Manometers enhancement doesn’t involve their measurement mechanism and is based on contact shunting with diodes as well as in additional checking and marking.
Principle of operation: Pressure thresholds setting is executed by setting the manometer signal pointers accordingly. Normally, manometer electrical contacts are closed shortly. When the threshold level is reached the contacts are being opened and electric current flows in one direction - via diode, that shunts the contacts. MS-3 signal device is cable to: emit the corresponding LED signal, emit the sound signal and switch the output relay (see section “MS-3-2R signal devices”.
False activation protection is provided by MS-3... Signal device, which executes logical conversion of manometer impulce signals, occuring as a result of terminals chatter during vibration or bad contact.

Notes:
1)DA2010/DA2005-Ex manovacuum meters with measuring range of from -1 up to 0,6 bar are used for double-wall tanks interstitial tightness control, providing a possibility to register pressure drop from 0,2bar up to 0 bar.
2) DM2010 (DM2005) and EKM-100 (EKM-160) manometers are used for LCG tanks interstitial space tightness control in normal and emergency operation modes. In this case both are possible: pressure drop during leakage of external wall, and pressure rising during leakage of internal wall. (pic. 3).
