Indication (80 .. 90%) of tank filling for LPG with resolution ≈1%. Self-contained power supply from built-in battery. Mobile tanks application.

Application

Designed for indication of relative filling of tank using LED scale integrated in sensor housing. Installed at side wall of container tanks for LPG transportation. Indicates filling within range from 80 to 90% of full volume. Can be applied for monitoring of tank overfilling.

Design, principle of operation

Float with magnet travels along the guide pipe and closes reeds which are connected using resistive voltage divider circuit. The controller lights up 6 LED scale, indication of 11 levels is reached by silmultaneous glowing of two near LEDs. For better viewing, LEDs are placed as in traffic lights. The sensors are powered by lithium battery which is placed within housing under removable threaded cover. LEDs are glowing in pulsed mode; it is used for prolongation of life battery; at least 3 years of continious operation, after that the battery can be replaced.
