MS-3-2P signal device for level sensors and electro-contact pressure manometers.

One channel. Light and sound signal emission. Executive mechanisms control - 2 ralays.

Application

Signal devices (pic.1) are designed for simultaneous operation with level sensors with W5DNC output (see sections “Level sensors... (With W5DNC output)”, and signal manometers , vaccuummeters, manovacuumeters (see section “Electro contact manometers”). Signal device provides control and adjustment of medium parameters: - Liquid level by 1...3 values, - pressure by 2 values.

Signal device is a secondary unit with intrinsically safe circuit, level - «ia», for explosion hazardous mixes of category IIB.

Device

Signal devices MS-3-2R, MS-3-2R-GS, MS-3-2R-DIN-DC (pic. 1А, 1Б) are executed in plastic housings. MS-3-2R-GS-BZ (pic. 1C) is executed in 13Mn6 steel, and has an explosion proof housing protection, marking - 1Exd[ia]IIBT4. Signal devices MS-3-2R and MS-3-2R-GS have a built in piezo alarm. All signal devices, except MS-3-2R, have external output to light and signal device VS-3-12V (VS-3-24V). Signal device MS-3-2R-DIN-DC is designed for TH35-7,5 or TH35-15 DIN-rail mounting.

Operation principle

At circuit closing/opening of output contacts of the sensor or electro contact manometer the corresponding LEDs on the front panel start glowing, alarm starts signaling and output relays might be switched. Alarm operating algorithm for level sensors is given in cl. 12E of “PMP Modifications” section. Применительно к электроконтактным манометрам: уровень “1” соответствует нижнему порогу давления (”MIN”), уровень “2” - верхнему порогу (”MAX”), уровень “3” соответствует обрыву линии связи (”Emergency”). Алгоритм переключения реле (рис. 3): при достижении уровня “1” переключается реле 1, - уровня “2” - реле 2 (реле 1 переходит в исходное состояние), - уровня “3” - переключаются оба реле.
Modification - signal device MS-3-2R-GS(VA) activates signaling only when control level “3”(”Emergency”) is reached.
MS-3-2R-DIN-DC has a possibility for adjustment of signaling and activation algorithm. This helps to:
- reduce duration of sound signal to 0,5 sec. on control levels ”1” and “2” for use in automatic liquid level adjustment systems, whereas the reaching of these control levels is meant to be normal in operation (in accordance with MS-3-2R-GS(VA);
- set short-period relay switch on levels “1” and “2”, important for infill of several tanks with one pump with the use of starter relay with latching contact;
- set the non-stop alarm at reaching of level “3” (”Emergency”);
- set reaction on level “3” of only one relay, thus, set its usage purpose: lower emergency or upper emergency.
To adjust the unit the operator should flip up the signal device panel to access the control sliding switches.(pic. 2).
Signal devices provides the protection from terminal chatterer effect, occuring during sensor vibration, common for electro contact manometers with bad terminal clamping.
